$200,000 grant from us epa brownfields program

The Center for American Indian Health and Environmental Technologies
(CAIHET), a nonprofit affiliate of Porter Scientific, and Concurrent
Technologies, Inc. (CTC) was awarded a $200,000 job training grant
from the US Environmental Protection Agency Brownfield Program.
The grant will be utilized to train 75 students, place 60 graduates
in environmental jobs and track students for one year. The 240 hour
training program includes HAZWOPER, OSHA Class I/asbestos emergency
response, asbestos abatement, and innovative and alternative treatment
technologies mold remediation, OSHA general industry standard hazardous
materials handling and shipping, for residents of Robeson, Scotland,
and Cumberland Counties, North Carolina. Graduates will be placed
in environmental jobs through CTC contacts and the Center for Indian
Health and affiliate of Porter Scientific, Inc.
