Mr. Oxendine has over 33 years of professional management experience.
Some of the positions held include the following:
- Project Manager at Porter Scientific, Inc., Pembroke,
NC (04/2004 – Present).
Project Director of Grant Development and Director of funded
grants for training programs in the Health & Environmental
Technology curriculums. New Business Development in the public
and private sectors focusing on Environmental Services
and IT Support services.
- Technical Operations Manager at Abbott Laboratories,
Laurinburg, NC (06/2000 – 05/2003).
Responsible for all engineering and technical support for a manufacturing
facility that produced $250 - $300 million in sales. Provided direction
to a department
consisting of 22 professional engineers and 97 technicians and mechanics.
Managed a 24/7 plastic molding operation that produced 500 million components
per year.
Managed a highly technical sub-assembly operation that supported three
plants with more than 300 million sub-assemblies. Responsible for a cost-reduction
program, which resulted in average savings of $8 million annually. Provided
technical support to two off-shore plants.
- Manufacturing Manager at Abbott
Laboratories, Laurinburg, NC (01/1995 – 06/2000).
Responsible for a 3-shift manufacturing process operated by approximately
900 hourly employees, 20 supervisors, and 4 managers. Responsible for product
quality,
schedule attainment, and budget control. Provided support for start-up
operations in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rico.
- Engineering Manager at Abbott Laboratories,
Laurinburg, NC (01/1993 – 01/1995).
Responsible for engineering support at the Laurinburg plant. Support areas
included Plant Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Electronic Engineering,
Industrial Engineering, Project Engineering, and Environmental and Safety
Engineering. This support function consisted of 18 professional employees
and 90 technical/skilled
mechanics. Responsible developing and managing a capital budget ranging
between $4-6 million annually and a cost-reduction program resulting in
approximate
savings of $5 million annually. Played a key role in the Puerto Rico plant-closing
project.
- Ross Business Unit Manager at Abbott Laboratories, Laurinburg,
NC (01/1988 – 01/1993).
Responsible for a 3-shift manufacturing operation consisting of approximately
180 hourly employees, 4 supervisors, and 3 engineers. Responsible for product
quality, schedule attainment, budget control, and productivity.
